How to Get Here

Zazenda House is easily accessible from the airports of Dubrovnik DBV, (20 km) and Tivat TIV, (17 km) and lies in the village of Njivice, right at the entrance of The Bay of Kotor ( the longest fjord outside Norway). On the opposite side of the bay the cities of Herceg Novi and Igalo and behind them The Orjen Massive.

We can organize your transfer both from/to Dubrovnik and Tivat in case you would like it to be smooth (there are buses from Tivat to Herceg Novi, from there taxi, about 5 km, 10 €). Coming from Dubrovnik you will cross the borders of Croatia and Montenegro.

Around and About

Zazenda House is situated very close to the Croatian border. It is easy to visit the medieval city of Dubrovnik which is on the Unesco Cultural Heritage list as well as other Croatian places like Cavtat. The medieval city of Kotor (also on the Unesco list) in the fond of the bay can be reached by car in one hour driving along the shores of the beautiful bay of Kotor which features many charming old villages, the most famous being Perast with its enchanting atmosphere.

Another charming village, Donji Stoliv on the opposite side of the bay, is the starting point for some great hikes. The old Roman stone path takes you up to the abandoned village of Gornji Stoliv and its old stone churches and a spectacular views over the bay. Here you can embark on several nice hikes, you can buy sheep and goat cheese from the local farmers in Gornja Lastva and in the end of the day arrive in the city of Tivat on the other side of the ridge.

There are many national parks worth-while visiting. Durmitor, Lovcen, Prokletije, Biogradska Gora and Lake Skadar. These you reach either by car or by organised tours. Many skiing resorts are close by if you decide to come during the winter season. Montenegro is a small country and to visit the adventure park of Lovcen or Mount Durmitor National Park for example, would take you only one day.
